Replacement string length by model
A crossbow string is a wear item, not a permanent part, and the length is specific to the model - there is no universal CenterPoint string. Most of the models below are no longer listed by the manufacturer, which is exactly why the numbers are hard to find. These lengths come from the replacement strings sold for each bow.

What CenterPoint owners ask most often about bolts, strings and parts.
What length bolt does my CenterPoint take?
Most CenterPoint compound crossbows are set up around a 20-inch carbon bolt at roughly 400 grains total, and that is what the factory packages ship with - the Sniper 370, for example, comes with three 20-inch carbon bolts. Check what came with your bow before changing length: bolt weight affects both speed and where the bow prints, so switching to a heavier or lighter bolt means re-sighting.
My model is not on CenterPoint's website any more. Can I still get parts?
Yes. The manufacturer rotates its catalogue quickly and drops pages for models it no longer sells, but the aftermarket keeps supplying the wear items long after that. Replacement strings, cables, bolts and cocking devices are still available for the Sniper 370, Wrath 430, Patriot 425, Amped 425, Dagger 390, CP400 and others - which is most of why this site exists.
How do I know the string needs replacing?
Look for fraying or fuzzing along the serving, strands that have gone flat or separated, and serving that has started to unwind or shift. A string that has visibly stretched will also drop your speed and move your point of impact. Waxing the string regularly is what extends its life; waxing a string that is already frayed only hides the problem.
Are CenterPoint bolts interchangeable with other brands?
Physically, often yes - a 20-inch carbon bolt with a half-moon nock will chamber in many crossbows. But interchangeable is not the same as correct. Three things have to match: overall length, total grain weight, and nock type. The nock matters most for safety, because a bolt that does not seat correctly against the string is how a dry-fire happens.
Do I need a crank cocking device?
It is not required, but on anything in the 185-220 lb draw weight range it changes the experience. The real argument for a crank is not effort, it is consistency: a rope cocker that pulls even slightly off-centre seats the string differently each time, and that shows up as vertical spread on the target. A crank cocks the same way every shot.
Can I dry-fire a CenterPoint crossbow?
No, and you should not test it. CenterPoint fits an anti-dry-fire mechanism to its compound models, which is a safety net rather than a permission slip - a dry-fire can still damage limbs, cams and the rail. The common cause is a bolt that was not pushed fully back against the string, so check that the nock is seated every single time you load.
